  5. Thank you Sheila (2014)and Early Canterbury photography. I am interested to know when Everybody's Studio was a going concern. I have a photo of my mother's which ties in with her story of her first Auckland visit and returning home to the Wairarapa as New Zealand awoke to the Influenza epidemic. The dates nicely confirm her story. The studio is noted on the reverse of the photo together with a number but I am understanding any further information may not be obtainable.

  6. Everybody's Studios was operated by my great grandfather Cromwell Shepherd, with my Grandmother Hinemoa Shepherd (Hunt) assisting him. It was located above the current Louis Vuiton store. There was an Everybody's Theatre in the same building, which may have explained its name (there's still an Everybody's cafe, which is probably a legacy). Unfortunately no-one in my family has records of Cromwell's images, tho I have collected a number of them on a Facebook album (email me if you'd like to see them). Cromwell also took many photos at Waimangu/Te Wairoa (Buried Village) and n Lake Rotomahana as tourism startup up following the Tarawera eruption. I would love to see the images he took of your family. errolhunt at iprimus dot com dot au
