(N.Z.E.F. Official War Correspondent) Solomons, June 26
... An oil portrait of a bearded New Zealand sailor by L.A.C. R. H. Charters, of New Plymouth, gained much favourable comment. Charters has done his first painting in the Solomons, and shows marked promise. He is a photographer in civil life.
