To Early Canterbury Photography. I've just discovered this page and you have a photo in your album of my Great Great Grandmother Mary Lord nee Meng. I've never seen this photo of her but it is definitely her! She is on the 8th page down next to a man I don't know. She was best friends with Clara Elizabeth Baker nee Harris. I have many of the same photos you have in this album and also some different ones. Please email me on belinda dot lansley at yahoo dot co dot nz and I'll send more to you!

Thank you for your blog - great to record all these early photographs.
I wonder whether the photograph on page 18 is my great grandfather Frederick Edward Harris, Clara's younger brother, born 6 August 1877 (Ohoka), died Masterton, 8 May 1908.

Hello Annsley, I don't know myself if this is Frederick Harris, but it is possible. Do you have other photos of him?

There is only one photograph in his late 20s that my family has - I will try to get a good image of it when I am next in New Zealand. This one does resemble my grandmother, his daughter.

I have this same photo of Clara’s brother Frederick Edward Harris. He is my great grandfather. His son Robert Davie Harris is my Grandfather and my father Robert Hilton Harris.
