The 1936 photo is taken outside the Bible Class rooms at Trinity Presbyterian church, Hally Terrace, Temuka. At least some of the people in the photo are from Temuka but girls from a wider area may be there too. The building was demolished some time ago and a new hall complex stands on the site.
Clarke died in 1958 but he was still taking photos until close to this date.
Charles Edward Clarke died at Waimate on 6 November 1961, not 1958, as stated in his probated will documents, and he is buried in Waimate Lawn Cemetery, as is his widow Catherine, who died on 11 March 1963.https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QSQ-G9SY-5HNG?i=36&cc=1865481
hi John, yes you are correct, the dates of death of Charles and his wife you give correspond with the dates recorded by the Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages. I have checked the probate records and they give the correct date. I don't know where you get the 1958 date from.
